Special events
The KW German Shepherd Club members hosts several special events yearly for our membership.
2019 events are: Howler, Ruff Mudder, Dock diving, All day hike (TBD), annual howl-o-ween walk, plus more.
9th annual Howl-o-ween costume contest

This years winner is Quill the wiener. 2nd place went to Carly the unicorn and 3rd Judo Henry

8th annual Howl-o-ween costume contest

Well it happened again. Henry retained his title as best costume this year. Second place went to Carly as spider girl and third was Madison the unicorn.

Hockley Valley Walk - 2019
|
Early November when the leaves fully changed colours our group went for walk in Hockley Valley. After a long challenging hike we stopped at a local coffee and pie shop after the walk.

7th annual Howl-o-ween Costume contest 2019

Once again we had a good turn out and many spectacular costumes. This years winner was Henry as a gladiator. Second place was Quill the shark and third was Valo the hotdog.

5th annual Dock diving 2019
|
Another great dock diving event. This years had many new dogs and many successes. This years furthers jump was Madison at 15'06". Second was Ruger at 14'06" and Quill at 14'. This was Sasha's first time jumping and she was at 12'06".

Ruff Mudder
|
June 23rd we had a team from our club attend the Ruff Mudder. Everyone and their K9 companion completed the course. It was a great event overall and we will be going back next year. We started the event as a team and finished as a team as well... slightly muddier though.

Howler event - Fundraiser for Pound Dog Rescue

Our club hosted 2 try it areas for the Howler event. Scent detection try it area and a mock CGN area. This years demo was competition obedience (shutzhund style). This was our 4th year at this event.

4th annual ugly sweater contest
Winter 2018

This years winner was Star. Impressive to say the least. Bells ribbons and even a light up sweater. Definitely bringing this contest to a new height... or low depends on how you look at it.

Club x-mas party, dinner and games

We hosted our annual x-mas party. Dinner, trivia and many other games and prizes. Fun night hanging out as a group without having our canine companions.

6th annual Howl-o-ween costume contest

This year was an excellent year for costumes. Madison won this year as a fire fighter. Second place was Henry the police officer and third place was Star as a prisoner.

3rd annual Hockley Valley pack walk

October when the leaves fully changed colours our group went for walk in Hockley Valley. After a long morning we stopped at a local coffee and pie shop after the walk. One if not my favourite walk of the year.

4th annual Dock diving
Summer 2018

August we hosted a Dock diving day. We rented out K9 Fun Zone in Caledonia. We had a 2 hour window for lesson for club dogs as well. We had excellent weather, great training and great company. This year we had 3 dogs break 15 ft for distance.

6th annual All day pack walk - Balls Falls
Summer 2018

This year we hiked at Balls Falls in the Niagara escarpment area. After the walk we stopped at a couple pet friendly wineries for lunch and some wine tasting.

Canada Day pack walk

Canada day fell on a Sunday so we were able to host a pack walk. Many dogs dressed up to show their pride for nation.

3rd annual Ugly Sweater contest

Many dogs came out dressed for our third annual ugly sweater contest. This years winner was Jada our GSD mix. This was voted on by an awesome father and daughter team we met along the way.

The KW German Shepherd club enjoyed their all day pack walk at Kelso lake conservation area. It was a very hot day, but we had great company, lots of shade and beautiful views to enjoy

3rd annual Dock diving event

KW German Shepherd Club hosted a dock diving event for our membership in August at K9 Fun Zone. We had an open leash free area and a ball pit for the club dogs to enjoy as well as the pool. The furthest jump of the day was done by Madison which was 14 ft. She repeated as champion for the second year in a row. 2nd place went to Carly with 12.5 ft and 3rd place was a tie with Summit and Zulu at 11 ft. Next year the leader board will look very differently.

Howler Event 2016 - Pound dog rescue
Fall 2016
KW German Shepherd Club helped with the Howler fund raiser for Pound dog rescue. We had a booth for the club, did a scent detection demonstration and hosted 2 try it areas for the general public. Scent detection and rally obedience. Our club was able to raise money for the rescue from generous donations from our membership, friends and family as well. We were also able to raffle off some gifts donated from local companies to raise addition more funds for Pound dog rescue. The dogs which participated in the demo were Jaxx, Madison, Carly and Cayla. Thanks to everyone who helped with the event, donated to Pound dog rescue and the local companies who donated prizes
4th annual Howl-o-ween Costume contest

KW German Shepherd club hosted its 4th annual Howl-o-ween contest with prizes for the top 3 costumes. This year's winner was Frank who was dressed as the big bad wolf - AKA grandma. 2nd place went to Carly as Captain America and 3rd place was Jaxx the horse. Thanks to the WRPS for judging this years contest.

2nd annual Dock Diving event
Summer 2016
KW German Shepherd Club hosted a dock diving event for our membership this August at K9 Fun Zone. All dogs got many changes to try and enjoy this sport. We also had an open leash free area and a ball pit for the club dogs to enjoy. The furthest jump of the day was done by Madison which was 14 ft. This is measured from where the tail meets the body when the dog enters the water. 2nd place was Carly with 13.5 ft and Zulu at 12 ft.

4th annual All day pack walk - Halton falls

KW German Shepherd Club had its yearly all day pack walk this year at Halton Falls. The group got to enjoy a long walk through a wooded area as well as the beautiful Halton falls.

Summer 2013 the KW German Shepherd club hosted its first all day pack walk. This was at Spencer Gorge. Beautiful weather and even better scenery.
