The KW German Shepherd Club is a group of dedicated German Shepherd owners in the Kitchener-Waterloo region that was created in March 2012. Our members are dedicated to promoting the breed through education, training, positive exposure, responsible breeding and purchasing,. KW German Shepherd Club members promote the German Shepherd Dog in our community by:
promoting the breed standard set forth by the parent club (Verein für deutsche Schäferhunde; SV)
promoting the working heritage of the breed
advancing the objectives and integrity of the club
promoting the interests of the breed and of the individual dogs
promoting quality, integrity and upholding standards in breeding programs (through breeding and through purchasing)
promoting the breed in our communities through education, training and responsible breeding and purchasing along with positive exposure
promoting respectful use of all training methods
Our club focuses on building strong relationships with our canine companions as well as fellow dog breed enthusiasts. As a club, we aim to introduce the public to the German Shepherd breed as it was originally intended; a versatile working dog and companion.
Our club offers our members a place to explore the breed, experience new sporting and working venues and establishing relationships with trainers, breeders, competitors and other German Shepherd Dog enthusiasts.
Many of our members participate in multiple sport or working venues such as herding, obedience, scent detection, dock diving, confirmation, schutzhund, agility, and tracking, Many others simply enjoy the pack walks and special events our club offers to its members throughout the year.
We are by no means a training club, but do enjoy training together; members are able to work on specific training needs in a group setting and draw on other knowledge.
We host pack walks at various locations around our region, discussion nights, seminars and work shops along with a hosting other activities.
